IRMO, SC – Officer Todd Minemier, School Resource Officer (SRO) at Lake Murray Elementary School, has been named the 2025 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by American Legion Post 6.
Minemier was nominated by his Richland County Sheriff’s Department supervisors in recognition of his outstanding service. Each year, American Legion Post 6 selects an officer who has exceeded expectations, demonstrated exceptional community service, and shown professional excellence in law enforcement.
“It’s an honor to receive this award, and I proudly accept it on behalf of the students, teachers, staff, and parents at Lake Murray Elementary School,” Minemier said. “This recognition captures the best of my 39 years in law enforcement.”
Minemier has served as the SRO at Lake Murray Elementary for 12 years, where he also leads the DARE program and coordinates the school’s award-winning safety patrol.
