Lake Murray teams open playoffs

As Lake Murray area teams tipped off postseason play, River Bluff High School celebrated a historic milestone on the hardwood.

River Bluff guard Evie Godfrey was recognized after becoming the first player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points. The junior guard reached the milestone across multiple stops during her high school career — playing two seasons at Lexington High School, one season at Northside Christian Academy, and this year with the Lady Gators.

Godfrey’s scoring achievement highlights her consistency and offensive impact, as well as the experience she has carried into River Bluff’s playoff run. Reaching 1,000 career points is a significant benchmark in South Carolina high school basketball and reflects sustained production over multiple seasons.

With postseason play underway, the Lady Gators will look to build on that momentum as they pursue a deep playoff run.
