Lauren Vann Named Principal of Centerville Elementary

LEXINGTON, S.C. — Lexington County School District One has named Lauren Vann the new principal of Centerville Elementary School. The school board approved her appointment during its July 14 meeting.

Vann brings more than a decade of experience in elementary education and school leadership. She currently serves as assistant principal at Saxe Gotha Elementary and has previously held the same role at Red Bank Elementary.

Throughout her career, Vann has focused on student achievement, supporting teachers, and building a strong, positive school culture. Before becoming an administrator, she taught second, fourth, and fifth grades and served as a team leader, mentor, and instructional coach. She also worked as a math interventionist, helping students grow academically through targeted instruction and data-based strategies.

Vann was named Red Bank Elementary’s Teacher of the Year in 2015–16 and received the Michelin Better Way Forward Award. She has presented at national and state conferences and has had her work published in The Palmetto Administrator journal.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Vann holds a master’s degree in educational administration and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is endorsed in Gifted and Talented education and Read to Succeed and completed the South Carolina Instructional Leadership Academy.

She is a certified evaluator and mentor trainer in South Carolina and coaches educators through the National School Reform Faculty’s Critical Friends Group program. Vann is also an active member of the Palmetto State Teachers Association and the South Carolina Association of School Administrators.

District leaders say they are excited to welcome Vann to her new role and confident in the experience and leadership she brings to Centerville Elementary.
