The Lexington High School girls golf team was formally recognized at the South Carolina State House last week, where the Lady Wildcats and head coach Brandon Smith were presented with a House resolution honoring their historic achievement.
Lexington captured its state-record 15th state championship last October, edging Dorman by one stroke to claim the Class 5A Division I title at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg. The narrow margin underscored the competitiveness of the championship round and the program’s sustained excellence at the highest classification level.
In addition to the team honor, three Lady Wildcats earned individual postseason recognition. Lyles Herritage, Giavanna Martusciello, and Claire Kim were each named All-State, further cementing Lexington’s dominance during the 2025 season.
The State House ceremony recognized not only the championship victory but also the program’s longstanding standard of performance, discipline, and competitive consistency within South Carolina high school golf.
