Lexington County School District One is proud to host a Military Signing Day and receive a prestigious Purple Star School Designation.
Join us on Monday, April 29 at 10 a.m. at the Lexington High Performing Arts Center, located at 2364 Augusta Highway in Lexington, as we celebrate our graduating seniors from Gilbert, Lexington, Pelion, River Bluff and White Knoll high schools who are committing to serving our country in the U.S. Armed Forces. At the celebration, the students will sign for their chosen branch and receive commemorative graduation stoles.
The ceremony also marks a special achievement for Lexington One. The Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) will officially recognize Lexington One as a Purple Star School District. This designation acknowledges our dedication to supporting the unique needs of military-connected students facing academic transitions due to relocations.
Distinguished guests include State Superintendent of Education Ellen Weaver, S.C. State Representative Chris Wooten, Major General Todd McCaffrey, secretary with the S.C. Department of Veterans’ Affairs, along with district and school leaders.
We’re honored to celebrate our future heroes and our commitment to all students.
