Lexington High School is once again champions in girls’ golf.

The Lady Wildcats held off Dorman and archrival River Bluff on Tuesday to win the shortened Class 5A Division I title.

The tournament was postponed Monday due to bad weather at Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg. When it resumed, Lexington took an early held and finished with team score of +48.

Lyles Heritage led the Lady Wildcats as she placed sixth overall. Teammates Giavanna Martusciello tied for ninth place as all three made the All-State team.

Dorman finished a stroke behind in second place, followed by the Lady Gators who shot +50 for third place. River Bluff’s Minghe Huang and Charli Heaton finished fourth and fifth, respectively, to earn All-State honors.

This was Lexington’s state-record 15th championship and first since 2020.
