The Marriage Maintenance Center of Lexington will open January 2 and will specialize in working exclusively with couples: Married couples, pre-marriage couples, dating couples, engaged couples, remarried couples, and divorced couples (advocacy for children).
The Center will focus on maintaining healthy and mutually supportive relationships between couples. The Center’s motto is, “Marriages might be made in heaven, but you have to do your own maintenance.”
The Marriage Center Director/Consultant is Dr. William Mitcham. He is a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and an Approved Supervisor with AAMFT, and an NC Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Previously, he was an Adjunct Professor of Counseling at Lenoir Rhyne University in Hickory, NC and transferred to the Lutheran Theological Seminary campus in Columbia when he moved to Columbia. He will offer Marriage Enrichment Events for couples and is available to lead Marriage events in congregations and clusters of congregations.
