LEXINGTON, S.C. — A motorcycle driver died following a collision with another vehicle on South Lake Drive in the Red Bank area of Lexington County.
“Based on information from the scene, the motorcycle driver was operating recklessly when a deputy observed them and began attempting a traffic stop,” said Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon. “As the deputy tried to catch up, the driver continued through the intersection at South Lake and Knoll Station Drive, where they collided with another car.”
The deputy immediately reported the crash to the Lexington County 911 Communications Center and responded to the scene.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol will lead the investigation into the incident.
“Drivers should expect delays and lane closures in the Red Bank area as troopers conduct their investigation,” Koon added.
