LEXINGTON, SC – The Lexington Police Department is inviting the community to come together for a night of family fun, food, and fellowship at National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, at Virginia Hylton Park.
The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and offers a chance for residents to meet and mingle with local law enforcement and first responders in a relaxed, friendly setting.
“This event is a great way to build stronger relationships between our department and the community we proudly serve,” said Chief Terrence Green. “We encourage families, neighbors, and friends to come enjoy the evening with us.”
National Night Out will feature:
- Free food including hotdogs grilled by officers and VIPS
- Tasty treats and drinks from Blue Bell Ice Cream, Guthrie’s Chicken Fingers, Jimmy John’s, Whataburger, Takosushi, and more
- Fun activities like a bounce house, games from Palmetto Amusement, face painting by Emerald’s Artistry, balloon animals by Looney Balloony, and music with DJ Jonathan Garcia
Local restaurants and businesses are generously supporting the event. Chief-level sponsors include Cassell Brothers, Founders Federal Credit Union, SC State Credit Union, South Carolina Federal Credit Union, and Walmart. Sergeant-level support comes from AT&T/FirstNet, Big Air Lexington, Dave & Buster’s Columbia, Goldfish Swim School, Legacy Martial Arts, Molina Healthcare, and Nintendo.
Event logistics:
To prepare for the event, the Virginia Hylton Park parking lot (off South Lake Drive/SC-6) will close the evening of Monday, August 4 and remain closed on event day. Attendees are encouraged to use nearby public parking lots and avoid private business lots, which may tow unauthorized vehicles.
