Lexington-Richland School District Five celebrated the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 12 for the district’s newest elementary school Piney Woods Elementary.
Piney Woods Elementary opened its doors to students on August 18 and welcomed more than 400 students. School District Five commissioned Quackenbush Architects to design the district’s thirteenth elementary school. The 105,000 square foot school is located on Amicks Ferry Road in Chapin and has a capacity to hold 750 students.
