Lake Murray, SC – In a rare and spectacular event, a tornado formed over Lake Murray on Thursday, July 25, transforming into a water spout.
The water spout, which formed during mid-afternoon storms, was witnessed by fishermen and landowners, many of whom captured the phenomenon on video. Fortunately, no damage or injuries were reported.
While water spouts can be mesmerizing to watch, they are as dangerous as land tornadoes and should be avoided when encountered.
