Family fan, great baseball action, and an exciting K-9 demonstration

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) and the Columbia Fireflies will host RCSD K-9 TEAM NIGHT at Columbia’s Segra Park, Wednesday August 30, beginning at 7:05 p.m.
The event is part of the regularly scheduled Carolina League baseball game between the Fireflies (the Single-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals) and the Salisbury, Maryland-based Delmarva Shorebirds (the Single-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles).
Tickets are $15 each for seats in Segra’s section 111 and $10 each for the Park’s berm area, with $5 from the sale of each ticket going toward the “K9 Godmothers,” a non-profit which supports RCSD’s K-9s.
“This is going to be a fun night for all,” says Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott, a Fireflies fan and a lifelong athlete having played baseball at USC-Aiken and later pitching for the semi-pro Columbia Braves. “This will also be one of RCSD’s family night outings, so we’re expecting a sizeable turnout.”
A special K-9 demonstration is also being planned for the RCSD K-9 TEAM NIGHT.
“The Columbia Fireflies are excited to have the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and K9 Godmothers here at Segra Park,” said Matt Chernesky Account Manager – Tickets Sales, Columbia Fireflies Baseball. “We are proud to be able to use our platform to highlight organizations like K9 Godmothers and help them share their mission and values with our community.”
Fans of RCSD and the Columbia Fireflies may purchase tickets at https://www.firefliestickets.com/group/event/RCSDK9/ with each ticketholder receiving a complimentary Fireflies “group” baseball cap.
Segra Park is both a CASHLESS venue as well as a CLEAR BAG POLICY venue. For more information, please contact Matt Chernesky at 803-888-3015 or [email protected].
