River Bluff fall teams compete for state titles

The River Bluff competitive cheer team heads to Saturday’s championship at Colonial Life
Arena as a favorite.

The Lady Gators won the Class 5A Division I qualifier on Nov. 14 at White Knoll High School.
They finished 14.5 points higher than second place Lexington, which is seeking their third state
title in five years.

Dutch Fork also qualified with an eighth-place finish. The Lady Silver Foxes are tied with Liberty
with the second-most state titles (7) behind Chapin (17).

River Bluff won its lone competitive cheer title in 2014 in Class 3A.

While competitive cheer competes for a title, the River Bluff girls’ tennis team earned a runner-
up finish at the Class 5A Division I find this past Saturday in Cayce.

The Lady Gators faced Wando in a final which came down to a doubles match. The Lady
Warriors won in two sets 6-0, 6-1 to win the title by a 4-3 score. River Bluff was seeking its third
Class 5A title.
