The River Bluff volleyball team is headed to the state finals at Dreher High School.
The Lady Gators defeated nemesis Wando in four sets Tuesday to win the Class 5A Division I Lower State final. The scores were 28-25, 25-20, 18-25, 25-23.
It’s the second state title appearance for River Bluff, which lost to Wando twice during the regular season. The Lady Gators will face defending Class 5A Division I champion Dorman at noon Saturday. Dorman defeated River Bluff in the 2021 state championship match.
Dorman will look to claim its 17th state title, which would break its tie with Pickens for second most in state history behind Bishop England.
In other news, the high school girls tennis season concluded Tuesday with Lexington falling 5-1 to Wando in the Class 5A Division I final.
