Johnny Moore, a member of the Rotary Club of Chapin Sunrise, is the 2019-2020 Governor for Rotary District 7770, which covers all of Eastern South Carolina. Moore is the second district governor from the Rotary Club of Chapin Sunrise.
Originally from Spartanburg, he has been a member of Rotary for 12 years. He began his Rotary career in 2007 when he joined the Rotary Club of St. Andrews-Columbia. There he served as Club President and Foundation Chair. He transferred to the Rotary Club of Chapin Sunrise in 2012. He has served on the District level as Assistant Governor for Area 3 and District Membership Chair. Johnny is a Paul Harris Fellow, Paul Harris Society Member and a Bequest Society Member.
Johnny is married to Susan Saine Moore and they have 3 married daughters and 10 grandchildren. They reside in Irmo.
Rotary is a global network of more than 35,000 clubs with over 1.2 million members. As Governor of District 7770, Moore will be responsible for the almost 4,000 members of 79 clubs and 3 satellite clubs in the eastern counties of South Carolina. He is one of only 525 district governors around the world selected to serve, and his term will be July 1 – June 30, 2020.

The organization initiates humanitarian programs that address today’s challenging issues, such as hunger, poverty, lack of clean water, peace and conflict resolution, and illiteracy.
