Wicked to return to the Koger Center

The Broadway sensation Wicked will return to the Koger Center for the Arts from March 25 through April 5, 2026. Tickets go on sale December 5 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased online at kogercenterforthearts.com or in person at the Koger Center Box Office, 1051 Greene Street, Columbia.

Currently the fourth longest-running show in Broadway history, Wicked recently celebrated its 22nd anniversary on Broadway. The musical has won more than 100 international awards, including a Grammy Award and three Tony Awards, and has been performed in over 100 cities across 16 countries, translated into six languages. To date, it has been seen by more than 72 million people worldwide and has generated over $6.2 billion in global sales.

In North America, Wicked has enjoyed record-breaking sit-down engagements in Chicago (nearly four years), Los Angeles (two years), and San Francisco (nearly two years), as well as two North American tours.

The story takes place in the Land of Oz, but from a new perspective. Long before Dorothy arrives, a young woman with emerald-green skin, intelligence, and extraordinary talent navigates life with fiery determination. When she meets a popular blonde, their initial rivalry blossoms into an unlikely friendship…until the world labels one as “good” and the other as “Wicked.”

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello with musical staging by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento. Wicked is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.

The film version of Wicked opened November 22, 2024, and has become the highest grossing film based on a Broadway musical in history. The second film Wicked: FOR GOOD opened November 21.
