District Five administrator selected for SC Leadership Institute

Lexington-Richland School District Five principal Dr. Erin Doty has been selected to participate in leadership training.

Doty is the principal at CrossRoads Intermediate School and is part of the South Carolina School Leadership Executive Institute (SLEI) cohort 51. SLEI has a unique partnership with Truist Leadership Institute designed to equip principals from districts across the state with the insight, knowledge, and competencies necessary to lead innovative and successful schools.

“I am so excited and grateful for this opportunity,” Doty said. “I’m looking forward to growing as a leader and gaining new insight, knowledge and skills that will help me continue to lead my students and staff.”

SLEI is a seven-month professional development opportunity with three one-day sessions and two two-day sessions. The cohort will include strategies like small and large group discussion, teamwork, Socratic seminars, simulations, scenarios, self-reflection, 360° feedback, problem-solving, inquiry cycles, coaching teachers, human capital, case studies, study teams, and networking. With Instructional Leadership at its core, participants will leverage key strategies to address challenges and shifts in the field of education.

“I am thrilled that Dr. Doty has been selected to take part in this leadership training and represent our district,” School District Five Chief of Academics Tina McCaskill said. “We know that Dr. Doty’s participation in SLEI will not only benefit her professionally, but her learning will continue to give back to the students and educators in School District Five for years to come.”
