Lexington-Richland School District Five has named Todd Bedenbaugh the new Executive Director of Operations for the district.
Bedenbaugh currently serves as the director of student nutrition. In this new role, Bedenbaugh will continue to perform those duties as well as supervising the district’s transportation, facilities and technology departments. He was approved for the new post during a school board meeting December 14.
“I know in my new role as Executive Director of Operations, I am surrounded by great leaders and team members in facilities, student nutrition, technology and transportation departments,” Bedenbaugh said. “We will continue to support the district’s mission and to provide the very best service for our staff and students. I am honored and excited about the opportunity to continue serving our district.”
Bedenbaugh has served as the district’s director of nutrition since 2013. Prior to serving as the district’s student nutrition director, he served as the director of the South Carolina Office of Health and Nutrition. He also served as the director of nutrition and food services for the Charleston County School District from 2000 to 2005.
Bedenbaugh has earned statewide and regional honors while serving in District Five. In 2018 he was selected as School Nutrition Association’s (SNA) Director of the Year for South Carolina and the Southeast regional Director of the Year. He also started the District Five Education Foundation Golf Tournament to raise funds for the district’s Snack Pack program which provides nutritious food for those in need.
“Mr. Bedenbaugh already has been a leader within our operations department and will transition into this role seamlessly,” Superintendent Dr. Christina Melton said. “He has a true passion for serving our students, staff and community and a commitment to excellence in all he does. We’re excited for him as he takes on this new role. Congratulations, Mr. Bedenbaugh.”
