Touting his many years of service to Lexington-Richland District Five and his background in workforce development, Ken Loveless is seeking to return to one of the two District Five School Board seats in Lexington County.
“After receiving so much encouragement from community members and District Five stakeholders, my family and I decided that we’ve still got much to do in the district.” said Loveless. “You will not find anybody who has served and promoted the district in as many different capacities as I have. I want to give all I can to improve our great school district.”
Among the areas where Loveless has served the district are with the District Five Foundation, the Chapin High School Academic Leadership Academy, the Chapin High School Choral Booster Academy, Screaming Eagles Special Needs Athletics, Irmo High School Arts, Skills USA, the Center for Academic Excellence Construction Program, the Center for Academic Excellence Corporate Advisory Board and as a School Board Trustee – where he donated his salary for the entire term.
Loveless has several important priorities but he has always had his finger on the pulse for workforce development:
“We do not live in a ‘one size fits all world.’” Loveless said. “Whether it is a college degree or assisting students entering the workforce, we must prepare. I have a history of doing just that. Whether it be privately or assisting with programs in District Five, I am proven and have the results helping District Five students prepare for the future.”
Ken and his wife of 30 years, Jondy – who also previously served on the school board – reside in Chapin. They have two children, Reid and James, and two young grandchildren – Griff and Gini.
