A 6–0 start has moved the Lexington girls basketball team up in the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association rankings.
The Lady Wildcats are ranked third in Class 5A Division I, trailing Spartanburg and J.L. Mann.

Meanwhile, the Lexington boys team went 2–0 last week. After defeating Hammond School 48–37, the Wildcats competed in the Stars and Stripes Showcase at Sumter High School, where they defeated Marion 59–37 to improve to 4–2 on the season. Lexington opens a demanding stretch Friday with four games in seven days leading into Christmas break.
The White Knoll boys have also rebounded from a slow start with three straight victories. After edging defending Class 5A Division I Upper State champion Blythewood 68–66 on Dec. 2, the Timberwolves defeated Lower Richland 70–50 on Dec. 5 and Darlington 44–35 the following night. White Knoll began a four-game road trip Wednesday with a matchup at Aiken.
In Class 2A, both Saluda teams cracked the Top 10. The Lady Tigers were ranked No. 9, while the boys team shared the No. 10 spot with Batesburg-Leesville.
