The Historic Lorick Plantation House (Lake Murray Country Visitors Center) will step back in time to Christmas season 1840 for its Annual Holiday Open House this weekend.
Area Garden Clubs and volunteers – including Coldstream Garden Club, Newberry County & Friends, Pisgah Lutheran Church and the Saluda Garden Club transform the Visitor Center into a Christmas haven with period decorations, including live and dried plant materials. This year the theme is Murray Christmas.
The Lake Murray Country Visitors Center has a new Souvenir Shoppe with gifts for the season. In addition, Santa will be available for photos from 10 am – noon Saturday. Edventure Children’s Museum will have kids crafts, Golden Fork Bakery will be selling goodies and Scott Benny’s Food Truck will be on site.
The open house will be this Saturday, December 8, 10 am – 3 pm, and this Sunday, December 9, noon – 4 pm. Admission is free. Capital City/Lake Murray Visitors Center is at 2184 North Lake Drive, Columbia.
