Leadership Lexington County celebrates 25 years

Leadership Lexington County (LLC) is celebrating 25 years of developing leaders in the community. The 34 member class of 2019 graduated on January 9.

Over the past 25 years, here is Leadership Lexington County by the numbers:

  • 813 Total Graduates of LLC (1995-2019)
  • 2019 Service Project raised over $80,000 to build a Pavilion for the Central Midlands Transitional Retreat
  • The 2020 class welcomed 36 members

The Leadership Lexington County program is for new and rising stars in Lexington County who show great leadership potential. This learning and development opportunity is designed to harness that energy and focus efforts to help to propel the community forward.

The program is comprised of three phases: learning, service, and leadership. In the first months of the program, class participants spend one day each month participating in hands-on activities that showcase the county’s assets as well as challenges as it continues to grow at a rapid pace. The class’ service project then gives the participants an opportunity to impact an area of need identified in the previous phase. Lastly, leadership is placed on display as the newest graduates help to coordinate the class days for the next year’s participants.

Leadership Lexington County is welcoming a new Board Chair, Aneesah Deen-Carlos, Lexington Medical Center. The 2020 Board Members are Allan Goff (Immediate Past-Chair), Ben Fuller, Jeanette Rivera, Mary Fechtel, Matt Porth, Robert Singleton, Oneal Staples (Chair-Elect), Thomas Tafel, Anna Huffman, Roy Mefford, Adam Deloach, Kerry Powers, and Mike White.
