Senior Detention Deputy Brittany Sawyer of Lexington County has been named Officer of the Year by the South Carolina Jail Administrators Association. Sawyer received this honor at the association’s annual training conference in recognition of her outstanding service at the Lexington County Detention Center.
Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon expressed his pride in Sawyer’s achievement, emphasizing her dedication and reliability. Since graduating from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in January 2020, Sawyer has played a key role in keeping contraband out of the jail, which has significantly contributed to the safety and security of both inmates and staff.
