I am pleased that the School District has decided to dismiss the lawsuit it brought to defend itself from Dr. Hefner’s attack on its accreditation. When the board authorized this lawsuit, Dr. Hefner had attacked the District’s accreditation by sending an unfounded complaint to the accreditation agency COGNIA.
After the filing of this lawsuit, COGNIA has taken no action and stated it will not take action. As a result, the lawsuit is no longer necessary to protect the school district’s accreditation and the board has voted to dismiss its claims so that the District’s resources can better be used to pursue its purpose – educating children.
We hope Dr. Hefner will join us and dismiss his counterclaim so no more resources are spent on this lawsuit.
